Netherlands. Union Rear Admiral Louis Malesherbes Goldsborough arrived at Flushing, where he hoisted his flag on the USS Colorado, and assumed command of the reinstated European Squadron.

Colorado Territory. John Evans retired as Governor of Colorado Territory and was succeeded by Lewis Weld.
