Missouri. Thomas C Reynolds became Confederate Governor of Missouri.

Kentucky. Expedition to Bacon Creek Bridge ended.

Louisiana. The USS Santiago de Cuba stopped the English ship Eugenia Smith off New Orleans. The Confederate agent James W Zacharie was detained, stimulating a diplomatic controversy similar to the Trent incident and the detention of John Slidell and James Murray Mason.

South Carolina. Expedition to Port Royal Ferry ended.
